Many people who think that the sapphire glass is the most suitable material for use as a coating phone screen, although not entirely true.
Although sapphire is highly resistant to scratches, the glass is very expensive and have a greater likelihood of rupture if bumped into solid objects. However, Corning seems to have a solution to that problem.
Corning Gorilla Glass is a manufacturer, which is popularly used as a coating of the phone screen. They recently showed off a brand-new glass, titled Project Phire. This glass is said to have combined the advantages of sapphire glass and Gorilla Glass 4. That would be as strong Gorilla Glass 4 in terms withstand impact, also has resistance to scratches almost as strong as sapphire glass.
Unfortunately not a lot of other information about Corning’s technology used in this Phire Project, which also reveal the calling vendors who are interested in using this new glass. However, they make sure that the glass will be released in 2015.
