Recent data says, there were approximately 326.4 million domain name registrations during the first quarter of 2016, which recorded an increase of 12 million domain names, or about 3.8 percent from the fourth quarter of 2015. VeriSign said that the registration number as many as 32.4 million, or 11 percent from year to year. Total registration of country-code TLD (ccTLD) reached 148.2 million domain names, with an increase of 2.6 percent from quarter to quarter, and a 8.2 percent increase from year to year.
Top-level domains (TLDs) .com and .net experienced aggregate growth, which reached approximately 142.5 million domain names during the first quarter in 2016. This figure marks an increase of 7.1 percent from year to year.

Compared with the previous quarter, the average daily demand increased 0.5 percent and the highest increase at 2.7 percent. Each year, the average daily demand increased 3.5 percent, with the highest increase in number by 14.2 percent.
