Google is busy developing automated smart cars that can run itself without the help of the driver. Initially, Google is confident that the long automatic car tested that would not require the brake or steering wheel.
But it turns out, the standard equipment of conventional cars it felt still needed. This year, Google will operate automatic car on public roads. A total of 25 prototype cars will be used in the most recent pilot project.
Last year, Chris Urmson as the Project Director of project planning if the prototype in question does not require the steering wheel or accelerator and brake pedals. This prototype does not require the steering wheel, gas pedal or brake pedal.
But in fact, the prototype made Google to include all such deficiencies. It seems not the technology that is not possible. More because of California, the trial will be held territory, require that all automatic cars have manual controls.
So if the car was impaired, people who can ride directly take over the helm. Google describes an automatic car which fit two people as the first true automatic steering car in the world.
Google automatic car prototype design still looks modest indeed and may change in the future really commercialized. In addition to testing the ability when walking in the crowd, passenger safety features will also be tested.
While the maximum speed is limited while testing only 25 kilometers per hour in order to prevent accidents. Previously, Google automatic car software has been tested on a limited basis in the Lexus.
In six years of test try near Google’s headquarters in Mountain View, the car was involved in 11 accidents. According to Google car was never to be the cause. Google made cars was seven times hit from behind by another vehicle, and is more common in the streets of the city, rather than on long trips out of town.
